Tiberian Sun News
Posted by Aro on February 12th, 2010
Electronic Arts have made Tiberian Sun and the Firestorm Expansion package become freeware. Click on the Image below to check it out!

Set in the early 21st century, Tiberian Sun once again pits the Global Defense Initiative against the Brotherhood of Nod in a struggle for control of the planet. With an epic storyline that unfolds as play progresses, players learn the reasons behind the worldwide outbreak of Tiberium and what happened to the notorious Nod leader Kane, who was presumed dead at the end of the first Command & Conquer.

The Dawn of the Tiberium Age v1.10 released
Tiberian Sun News
Posted by Bittah Commander on January 10th, 2010
It has taken quite a while for version 1.10 of The Dawn of the Tiberium Age to get finished, but it's finally here and I promise you that it's not just been collecting dust all year long.
DTA 1.10 has the longest change log yet, so I'm just going to link to it: http://dta.cncxs.com/changelog.
The most notable change is without a doubt the addition of the enhanced mode. While the classic mode aims to be a perfect replica of C&C95 on Tiberian Sun's engine, the aim of the enhanced mode is to improve or add features to the ones you're already familiar with from the classic mode. To get a better idea of what I'm talking about, just watch the trailer if you haven't already seen it or you can of course just head straight to DTA.CNCXS.COM to download and play the mod straight away (do watch the trailer if you haven't seen it however, because I put quite a few hours in making it ).

CnCNet is back!
Tiberian Dawn News
Posted by Nyerguds on December 31st, 2009

After three months of downtime, this awesome system to play C&C95 is back online! CnCNet, in combination with the C&C95 v1.06b patch, allows up to 6-player online games, all through the game's own LAN system.
The beauty of this system is its simplicity: the only thing the CnCNet application does is make sure the LAN players list in C&C95 is filled with online players instead of local ones - the game itself does all the rest
Go check it out, we're having tons of fun
Note: To people who still got CnCNet installed, you HAVE to download the new client. The old one's update system doesn't work because the old server is offline.

New The Dawn of the Tiberium Age trailer
Tiberian Sun News
Posted by Bittah Commander on December 26th, 2009
While working on this trailer, I got surprised by the Mod of the Year event, so it pushed me to get this trailer finished ASAP so I wouldn't miss out on any extra votes this trailer might get me. I put quite a bit more work and time in this trailer and unlike the first trailer, this one actually shows what the mod is all about even if you've never heard of it.
Anyways, have a look at the trailer. Hope you like it

Jon van Caneghem joins EALA
Site News
Posted by DeathRay2K on November 28th, 2009
Jon van Caneghem, creator of Might and Magic, has been hired by EALA to head up the Command & Conquer team. At first this sounds like fairly boring news, but in his interview with Gamasutra, van Caneghem talked about bringing C&C into the "games-as-service" fold, meaning greater connectivity and greater interactivity, but also generally meaning that you keep paying for the game you bought as long as you want to keep playing it. The interview itself is mainly marketing speak (That's van Caneghem's background much more than development), but we do glean that he plans to bring "social elements" into the games. Basically, expect more always-online action, and probably paid DLC in Command & Conquer's future. Given van Caneghem's history, and what he says about Command & Conquer's future, you can also probably expect an even greater shift towards RPG elements in the series's future.
For the full interview, check Gamasutra.

The Dawn of the Tiberium Age website launched!
Tiberian Sun News
Posted by Bittah Commander on November 25th, 2009
After a month short from a full year of silence concerning DTA, it's about due time for me to let people know that DTA is really still quite active and it now even has its very own site! My intention of building the site was to gather all DTA players in one single location, where they can read the latest news concerning DTA, use the forums to share their thoughts and work and use the chat rooms to set up multiplayer matches.

C&C Gold v1.06b revision 2 released!
Tiberian Dawn News
Posted by Nyerguds on October 27th, 2009
Nyerguds Industries Proudly Presents:

Nyerguds Industries Slightly Less Proudly admits that the main fix in this patch is for a crash caused by his own modifications to add the new Snow theater. A hotfix was already released to deal with this problem, but with this new release the actual 1.06 patch is stable without needing any additional updates.
Full changes list:
- Fixed a crash that occured on temperate/winter/snow maps when showing the tree type 'T13' on the minimap after saving the game
- Assigning unit teams to numbers (with [CTRL]+[number]) now works for the number 0 too, like in the DOS version
- The box that appears in network games when the game tries to (re)connect to players is now centered in high resolution
- Fixed the fact that the "Start New Game" function crashed the game if either of the campaign starting missions had no starting videos configured in the mission file
- The Funpark launcher program no longer triggers virus scanners (it was never actually a virus though)
